13 – 14 November 2018, at The Westin Warsaw Hotel, the FinTech & InsurTech Digital Congress took place. Thanks to practical solutions presented by pioneers of the FinTech and InsurTech sectors from 13 countries, the event showed how to function in an unusually competitive and unpredictable global market environment. The substantive agenda, with more than 100 great experts as speakers and networking with key representatives of both sectors brought more than 600 participants across both days of the congress.
Under the slogan GO GLOBAL!, the inaugural panel of the FinTech & InsurTech Digital Congress took place, with the opening of the congresses being hosted by the Chairmen of the Advisory Boards – Marcin Petrykowski, Managing Director S&P Global and Witold Jaworski, Co-Founder YU!. Looking for answers on whether the currently digital world of finances is evolution or revolution was the common topic for both the InsurTech and FinTech sectors, as well as the great introduction by the Guests of Honor. Keynote speeches were presented by: James Hickson, CEO MASH Group, Florian Graillot, Partner at astorya.vc and Krzysztof Domarecki, Creator, Fidiasz EVC.
In the agenda of the FinTech Digital Congress were topics about the future of banks and finances. There was also a block dedicated to education and organizational culture. Just as expected, there was no lack of space for investors during the event. It was with them in mind that the final panel took place, where they could present their needs and expectations, and clearly underline what conditions a start-up must meet to gain their interest and financing.
The InsurTech Digital Congress started from choosing innovative trends in insurance. The topic of the panel was directed to the standard consumer to new technologies. The panel about (tele)medicine gained a lot of interest. Presidents of the largest companies from the medical sector – PZU Zdrowie, Medicover, Lux-Med and Enel-Med debated on the future of telemedicine in the perspective of the next 5 years. There was no lack of the newest topic – new ways to manage staff, which for the insurance sector is particularly important.
Additional to the congress was the “Scale-up for Start -up” workshop, during which the most important steps of development for a start-up were discussed, starting from the gaining of capital, to discussing ways of entering foreign markets. It was a great chance for young, developing start-ups to meet with investors, start priceless business relations and exchange experiences.
